UIF stands for "Universal Image Format”. It’s a file format for the CD/DVD images created by the Magic ISO Maker application. Though it’s a powerful compression image file format that comes with plenty of advantages such as data encryption, MD5 checksums, password protection, and many other more, it’s still rather obscure and supported only by very few image disc management applications. Unlike the more famous ISO, the UIF format is not thoroughly supported by popular disc image management applications like DAEMON Tools, UltraISO or WinISO, even though it offers pretty much the same benefits. Therefore, in order to be able to use UIF files with popular disc image tools like the aforementioned ones, converting these files to the ISO format is often the only solution. The “UIF to ISO” tool is a free application that helps you with this task. It’s an extremely simple utility that does nothing else but let you convert an UIF file to an ISO one. There are no other options, settings, functions or even features. Not even basic features like batch converting multiple files at once or support for adding a file to the conversion task by using drag-and-drop are supported. The only additional functionality that this tool provides is the fact that it lets you choose a different output saving location for the created ISO file. Other than that, there’s nothing else. Anyway, this doesn’t mean that this utility is useless. It actually does a great job at converting UIF to ISO files, as it converts them very quickly, in only a few seconds, regardless of their sizes. Considering that it’s also free, I can’t see any good reason why not to choose it when you need to convert UIF files to ISO.
